Home Remedies for Dog Worms

Home Remedies for Dog Worms

It is the main responsibility of any pet owner to do as much as possible to keep their animals healthy and happy as long as they can. Sure, giving them as much love and attention as you are able will certainly help, but you also have to keep in mind the number of diseases and problems a canine in particular can have over the years.

It is always a good idea to keep in touch with a good veterinarian at least once a year. The vets’ office is a good source of knowledge about what can and possibly is causing problems with your canines’ health. There are several major diseases out there that have to be prevented against and monitored for, and one of the main ones is heartworm.

As a pet owner, the last thing you want to hear is that your canine has heartworm. Yes, there are multitudes of treatments out there that can be offered by your vet, but most are expensive, and some may even have side effects that will cause other problems for your pet. However, there are some vets that have knowledge about holistic or natural medicines that may be used to help against heartworms.

Some home remedies for dogworms can be found if you visit your local health food store. If you can’t find a natural food source in your town, you may want to search on the Internet. Some of the ingredients that have been reported to be useful are yucca, wormwood, cloves, black walnut tincture, garlic, and hawthorne berry. You may even find a kit containing natural herbs designed to cleanse an animal of parasites.

Even though holistic methods may be successful against heartworm, and may not have to be purchased from a veterinarian, it is always wise to get the advice of one while trying to get rid of this disease. The amounts of the natural substances that need to be given, and the frequency of their ingestion, depends on the weight and age of the animal, and can probably be better gauged by a professional.
